Summary |
This gene encodes a member of the annexin family. Membersof this calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein family playa role in the regulation of cellular growth and in signaltransduction pathways. The specific function of this gene has notyet been determined; however, it is associated with the plasmamembrane of undifferentiated, proliferating endothelial cells anddifferentiated villus enterocytes. Alternatively spliced transcriptvariants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
