Function	Regulates exocytosis in mast cells. Increases both the extent of secretion and the sensitivity of mast cells to stimulation with calcium (By similarity).
Summary	This gene likely encodes a member of the secernin family of proteins. A similar protein in rat functions in regulation of exocytosis in mast cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.

Images	Western blot analysis of lysate from U-251 MG cell line, using SCRN1 Antibody (N-term)(Cat. APR05605G). APR05605G was diluted at 1:1000 at each lane. A goat anti-rabbit IgG H&L(HRP) at 1:5000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody. Lysate at 35ug per lane. SCRN1 Antibody (N-term) (Cat. APR05605G) IHC analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the SCRN1 Antibody (N-term) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated. SCRN1 Antibody (N-term) (Cat. APR05605G) flow cytometric analysis of U251 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.
