EK00037E is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the A Disintegrin and Metalloprotease 30 (17-Hydroxyprogesterone) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing 17-Hydroxyprogesterone The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the EK00037Ee kit is based on 17-Hydroxyprogesterone antibody-17-Hydroxyprogesterone antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect 17-Hydroxyprogesterone antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, recombinant, 17-Hydroxyprogesterone. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted human body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV (%).

Cellular Localization |
Measurements of levels of 17-hydroxyprogesterone are useful in the evaluation of patients with suspected congenital adrenal hyperplasia as the typical enzymes that are defective, namely 21-hydroxylase and 11β-hydroxylase, lead to a build-up of 17OHP. In contrast, the rare patient with 17α-hydroxylase deficiency will have very low or undetectable levels of 17OHP. 17OHP levels can also be used to measure contribution of progestational activity of the corpus luteum during pregnancy as progesterone but not 17OHP is also contributed by the placenta.
