Function |
Organizes filamentous actin into bundles with a minimum of 4.1:1 actin/fascin ratio. Plays a role in the organization of actin filament bundles and the formation of microspikes, membrane ruffles, and stress fibers. Important for the formation of a diverse set of cell protrusions, such as filopodia, and for cell motility and migration.
|
||
Summary |
Fascin organizes filamentous actin into bundles with a minimum of 4.1:1 actin/fascin ratio. It is probably involved in the assembly of actin filament bundles present in microspikes, membrane ruffles, and stress fibers.

Western blot analysis of Fascin Antibody (Center) (Cat. APR15935G) in Y79 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). Fascin (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma with Fascin Antibody (Center), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
Flow cytometric analysis of NCI-H292 cells using Fascin Antibody (Center)(bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis. |
