Function	Binds heme and transports it to the liver for breakdown and iron recovery, after which the free hemopexin returns to the circulation.
Summary	HPX is a plasma glycoprotein that binds heme with high affinity. The protein is an acute phase protein that transports heme from the plasma to the liver and may be involved in protecting cells from oxidative stress.
Form	Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.
Storage & Stability	Store at +4°C short term. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Images	Western blot analysis of lysate from human blood plasma tissue lysate, using HPX Antibody (Center)(Cat. APR07796G). APR07796G was diluted at 1:1000 at each lane. A goat anti-rabbit IgG H&L(HRP) at 1:5000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody. Lysate at 35ug per lane. HPX Antibody (Center) (RB18728) IHC analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human hepatocarcinoma tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the HPX Antibody (Center) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated. HPX Antibody (Center) (Cat. APR07796G) flow cytometric analysis of CEM cells (bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.
