Function |
Corrects defective DNA strand-break repair and sister chromatid exchange following treatment with ionizing radiation and alkylating agents.
|
||
Summary |
The protein encoded by this gene is involved in theefficient repair of DNA single-strand breaks formed by exposure toionizing radiation and alkylating agents. This protein interactswith DNA ligase III, polymerase beta and poly (ADP-ribose)polymerase to participate in the base excision repair pathway. Itmay play a role in DNA processing during meiogenesis andrecombination in germ cells. A rare microsatellite polymorphism inthis gene is associated with cancer in patients of varyingradiosensitivity.

Immunofluorescent analysis of A549 cells, using XRCC1 Antibody (Center) (Cat. APR10935G). APR10935G was diluted at 1:25 dilution. Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG at 1:400 dilution was used as the secondary antibody (green). Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Dylight Fluor? 554 (red) conjugated Phalloidin (red).
XRCC1 Antibody (Center) (Cat. APR10935G) western blot analysis in A375 cell line lysates (15ug/lane).This demonstrates the XRCC1 antibody detected the XRCC1 protein (arrow).
XRCC1 Antibody (Center) (Cat. APR10935G) immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human skin carcinoma followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of the XRCC1 Antibody (Center) for immunohistochemistry. Clinical relevance has not been evaluated. |
