Introduction
Sanger sequencing is the process of selective incorporation of chain-terminating dideoxynucleotides by DNA polymerase during in vitro DNA replication; it is the most widely used method for the detection of SNVs. Sanger sequencing is the most widely used sequencing method for smaller-scale projects, validation of NGS results and for obtaining especially long contiguous DNA sequence reads (> 500 nucleotides).
