The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing C-C motif chemokine 5 The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the EK00291E kit is based on C-C motif chemokine 5 antibody-C-C motif chemokine 5 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect C-C motif chemokine 5 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, recombinant, C-C motif chemokine 5. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted human body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV (%).

Function |
Chemoattractant for blood monocytes, memory T-helper cells and eosinophils. Causes the release of histamine from basophils and activates eosinophils. May activate several chemokine receptors including CCR1, CCR3, CCR4 and CCR5. May also be an agonist of the G protein-coupled receptor GPR75. Together with GPR75, may play a role in neuron survival through activation of a downstream signaling pathway involving the PI3, Akt and MAP kinases. By activating GPR75 may also play a role in insulin secretion by islet cells.
