Product Overview |
EK00672E is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the A Disintegrin and Metalloprotease 30 (Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the EK00672E kit is based on Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c antibody-Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, recombinant, Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted human body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV (%).

Cellular Localization |
Glycosylated hemoglobin (hemoglobin A1c, HbA1c, A1C, or Hb1c; sometimes also HbA1c) is a form of hemoglobin that is measured primarily to identify the average plasma glucose concentration over prolonged periods of time. It is formed in a non-enzymatic glycation pathway by hemoglobin's exposure to plasma glucose. Normal levels of glucose produce a normal amount of glycosolated hemoglobin. As the average amount of plasma glucose increases, the fraction of glycosolated hemoglobin increases in a predictable way. This serves as a marker for average blood glucose levels over the previous months prior to the measurement.

Gene Name |
HbA1c
|
||
Function |
In the normal 120-day lifespan of the red blood cell, glucose molecules react with hemoglobin, forming glycosolated hemoglobin. In individuals with poorly controlled diabetes, the quantities of these glycosolated hemoglobins are much higher than healthy level.
