Introduction
G Protein-Coupled Receptor (GPCR) family is a class of 7 transmembrane proteins, it is a target for many diseases. For some drugs which can not target the GPCR have been proved to have pharmacological activity under the guidance of some GPCR target molecules. With the development of immune technology, especially the improvement of the preparation and purification of GPCR protein, more and more drugs are considering using antibodies to target GPCR. The most notable one among these antibodies is the heavy chain antibody (hcAbs) which from camel (Dromedary), alpaca and other Camelidae animals. The antibody which targets the binding domain of hcAb antigen (also known as single domain antibody), at the same time has a low molecular weight (low steric blockade and low expression cost) and monoclonal characteristics (high affinity and specificity), is the ideal guidance molecule for GPCR coupling drugs.

Advantage
With the breakthroughs in structural biology and biochemistry technology, more and more GPCR can be synthesized in vitro, and their structure analysis is more and more clear. However, the preparation of antibodies against GPCR is still very difficult. Through years of practical experience, Leading Biological accumulated a number of multiple transmembrane protein antibody preparation methods, including the design of the classic soluble protein, recombinant protein immunization methods, and the whole cell immune antibody preparation technique developed by our own professionals, trying to use the minimum risk, obtain the best quality antibodies. Provide the best scheme of antibody preparation for our customers.
With rich experience in antibody discovery and membrane protein studies, experts from Leading Biology have launched a membrane protein antibody development platform. We provide a one-step service of anti-GPCR membrane protein antibody discovery service against a variety of GPCR targets now.
Being the largest membrane receptor family, G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) have more than 800 members, about 370 of which are regarded as important therapeutic targets in clinic applications. Just now, there are about 30% of marketed drugs that exert the intended effects through modulation of GPCRs. Especially, antibodies against GPCRs are drawing increasing research interest due to their high specificity, good developability and low cytotoxicity in contrast to small molecules.
However, due to the complicated structure and low expression level of most GPCRs, anti-GPCR antibody development is very challenging. To overcome these issues and save valuable time for our clients, Creative Biolabs has integrated multiple state-of-the-art technologies for robust antibody generation against GPCRs:
